Our Mission

"A Hand Up, Not a Handout."

Beyond hospitality, we're building hope. Each Schoolyard location dedicates 10 fully-equipped converted buses as transitional housing — provided at $0 per night — for returning citizens and individuals experiencing homelessness.

Our mission is to show reentry individuals that just because they have fallen down, they have a second chance to get back up — by God's will. Through faith, guidance, and unwavering support, we help them rise again.

This is more than a shelter. It's a complete life transformation — housing, coaching, job training, credit repair, leadership development, and a community that believes in you when the world doesn't.

Our mission is growing. Alongside our reentry work, we now stand with two more communities close to our hearts: cancer patients and their families, and homeless veterans who served our country. From every short-term rental, 2% is donated to cancer research, each rental community features a dedicated Cancer Support bus, and we extend our transitional housing to homeless soldiers rebuilding their lives.

Building a Nation of Entrepreneurs

Second Chance and the Pioneers are one engine. The Pioneers don't just train inmates and homeless individuals — they hire them. Those graduates then turn around and train and hire the next class. Each new team continues the cycle as it spreads city by city, state by state — until all 50 states have a Schoolyard community helping families come back together.

The Pioneers donate time and funds to build the next wave of entrepreneurs. More entrepreneurs joining soon.

Real Transformations

Success Stories

Lives changed through faith, structure, and community.

Marcus T.
"When I walked through those bus doors, I had nothing but a garbage bag of clothes and a record. Schoolyard Community gave me a bed, a mentor, and for the first time in years, someone who believed I could lead. Today I manage a team of twelve."
